In his address to the Oliy Majlis on December 29, 2020, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev gave his recommendations and proposals for the further development of the makhalla system and in many other areas. To ensure the fulfillment of these tasks, on March 27, 2021, an information tour was organized as part of a joint project with the Research Institute “Mahalla and Family” and the Association of Gastronomic Tourism of Uzbekistan, which is aimed at creating a tourist environment in makhallas, providing practical assistance to unemployed women included in the “women's book” in starting a family business and becoming self-employed, as well as familiarizing tourists with the traditions of cooking Uzbek national dishes and attracting citizens involved in the sale of national food.
The presentation of the project took place in the hall of the mahalla committee “Otchopar 1” of the Yunusabad district, and was attended by representatives of the media, guides and tour operators.
Chairperson of the Gastronomy Tourism Association of Uzbekistan Gulnoza Odilova told the guests about the project, the work done within the framework of the project and answered questions of the participants.
During the meeting the website www.gastromahalla.uz and the mobile application gastromahalla were also presented.
After that, they visited the house of Feruza Ashirova, a resident of the city of Tashkent, Yunusabad district, Shahristan mahalla, Shurob street 20, who expressed a desire to participate in the project and the visitors got acquainted with the conditions created in the house to welcome tourists.
Feruza Ashirova received a certificate for her participation in the project “Gastro mahalla ”and its training seminars.
In the future, if the project achieves the desired results, it is planned to be implemented throughout the country.
